Head Cross Country Coach and Assistant Track & Field Coach

Alaric Best was named Head Cross Country Coach and Assistant Track & Field Coach at Ursuline in July of 2015. In August of 2017, Best was promoted to Associated Head Track and Field Coach

  • 57 Track & Field Northeast 10 Conference team performers
  • 10th place finish in the Women’s Northeast 10 Cross Country Championship in 2011
  • 9x New England Champions Individual Qualifiers
  • 15th place finish in the Women’s NCAA Division II Cross Country East Region Championships in 211.
  • 2013-14 had eight student-athletes earn All-America laurels in a program record seven events.

  • Competed two years at New Haven and two years at SUNY Delhi
  • 5x All-America honors at SUNY Delhi in track & field
  • All-America honors in Cross Country at SUNY Delhi 
  • Led the team to two NJCAA Division III National Championships
  • Team Captain as a Senior

  • Earned an Associate’s Degree at SUNY Delhi
  • Earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Management of Sports Industries and Business Management at New Haven
  • Earned a Master’s Degree in Labor Relations at New Haven
  • Masters of Science in Recreation and Sport Science/Coaching Education from Ohio University

Daniel Tutskey
Head Track and Field Coach/Strength & Conditioning


Daniel Tutskey took over Ursuline Track & Field program in August of 2015 and has led the program to several record breaking performances in his first two years as Head Coach.

CAREER ATHLETIC ACCOMPLISHMENTS

  • Competed at The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse
  • Captain of 2001 team that won the NCAA Division III National Championship (Indoor and Outdoor).
  • 9x All-American
  • Anchored the 4x100m relay to victory at the Drake Relays
  • Qualified for the USA Track & Field (USATF) Outdoor Championships in the 100m dash in 2002 and 2003.
  • Qualified for the USTAF Indoor Championships in the 60m dash in 2006
  • Ranked 48th in the United States in the 100m dash in 2003 with a time of 10.34 seconds
  • Ranked 127th in the world in the 100m dash in 2002 with a time of 10.30 seconds

EDUCATION

  • Graduated from Wisconsin La Crosse in 2003 with a degree in Recreation Management
  • Earned a Master’s Degree from North Central College in Sports Leadership Studies
